Every person dealing with a major disease sooner or later becomes aware that success is directly related to the level at which the patient takes an interest in the outcome. Mr. Thomas received his cancer diagnosis in the year 2000 and immediately set out to be involved in his therapy. His still being alive symptom free is testament that something is right about this. This is one of his reports from his journal of self healing. JV - webmaster.

Making Your Own Wheatgrass Juice

As my education grew regarding healing and nutrition I began to make my own wheatgrass juice and add it to my regular juice. The following shows you how I do it.

wheatgrass01

I grow my wheatgrass in a traditional nursery flat which is about two feet long and one foot wide. I line it with several layers of newspaper first as you can see here.

wheatgrass02

I then add my soil, about an inch deep. This soil, from my compost, is screened and mixed with a potting soil which is augmented with additional minerals. This insures the highest nutrition from the grass.

wheatgrass03

I soak my organic wheat berries overnight.

I also presoak my soil for a few hours to make sure that the moisture permeates it completely before adding the wheat.

wheatgrass04

After rinsing the presoaked wheat berries, and draining them thoroughly, I spread them out over the moist soil. It takes about a cup and a half of the berries to fill the flat. This is about 60¢ worth of wheat, it produces juice for a week.

wheatgrass05

All of this is then covered with several layers of newspaper, which is soaked with water. This must be kept moist, I use a water spray bottle every day.

wheatgrass06

Cover the tray with some kind of plastic to keep the moisture in, I use two layers of bubble wrap which also insulates. Then I place the tray in a location devoid of bright light.

wheatgrass07

Four days later the sprouting wheat will be pushing up on the moist newspaper. It's time to remove the newspaper cover and place the tray in bright sunlight.

wheatgrass08

Here's a picture of my grass flat after the first 24 hours. It is amazing how quickly the grass turns green and explodes with growth once it begins receiving direct sunlight. This is a photo of the tray inside my year-round greenhouse. From a nutritional point of view you can really see how great this is for you.

wheatgrass09

When the grass is three or four days old it is ready to harvest. In this picture I have cut away half of the grass.

wheatgrass10

It is also very possible to harvest all of the grass and store it inside an air tight contained inside your refrigerator. I use this tupperware container with a wet paper towel in the bottom.

wheatgrass11

Here's my manual wheatgrass juicer with grass being fed into it. It is extremely easy to use and to clean. This is the cheapest nutrional support I use, about 60¢ a week for wheat berries plus some soil.
